The night before last we had a fire light up the side of the mountain, right across from where i am renting. About 230am, Debbie woke me up and we both watched in rather disbelief of how close this fire was. The next morning we walk by were it started and where even more surprised on how close it was, where it had started. As it had started on the east side of the road, missed a house, and burned up the hill.

They were investigating its cause and believe they know what caused it but have been reluctant to say. Our fire we had that night was well contained and because of the slight wind direction, there is just no possible way it could of been the cause, otherwise this property would have been lit up too. Or the fire would of started further south, then directly across the river, cabin, and road from were i am at. Anyway it was a wake up call on how close that can get and happen and I’m very curious(as is Debbie) about what they believe was the cause. Because of its location, right on the east side of the street(leah st), and the cabin in which it started out in front of, which was occupied over thrusday-saturday evening. The fire started saturday evening. My best guess is a tossed cigarette butte, which is not good. Here are a couple photos to give a little perspective. They were taken at the top of the hill were the fire was stopped, the first shows the burnt ground, the second shows(about 25 feet north) the cabins on Leah st, and my Family’s cabin, and my place across the river. My family’s cabin is the red roof, and i live just to the left of there, with the brown roof. The cabins on Leah st, have white roofs. I feel very blessed and have thanked the firefighters when we walked it the next morning.
